Intermediate Membership (Men & Ladies)

Intermediate (Male 22-26) & Senior Intermediate (Male 27-35)    

COMPETITION ELEGIBILITY: Intermediates and Senior Intermediates, irrespective of handicap, are eligible to play in the following Men’s Club Competitions: –

  • All Singles including the Monthly Medals, subject to the exceptions detailed below
  • All Open and Invitation Competitions including Wednesday Invitation Fourball and Wednesday Invitation 9 Hole Singles
  • Non-Invitation Fourball competitions where a timesheet vacancy exists 7 days prior to competition start date.
  • Winter League
  • Wicklow and Delgany Scratch Cups (Handicap Limit 5)
  • Junior Scratch Cup (Handicap Limits 5 to 9)
  • Intermediate Scratch Cup (Handicap Limits 10 – 18)
  • Minor Scratch Cup (Handicap 19 +)
  • Captain’s Prize to Intermediates/Senior Intermediates
  • Professional’s Prize to Intermediates/Senior Intermediates
  • President’s Prize to Intermediates/Senior Intermediates
  • Singles Matchplay for Intermediates/Senior Intermediates
  • Fourball Matchplay (must partner with an Ordinary member)
  • Foursome Matchplay (must partner with an Ordinary member)
  • Mixed Foursome Matchplay (must partner with an Ordinary member)
  • Turkey Singles & Fourball (Where a timesheet vacancy exists on the Monday prior to competition)
  • Captain’s Drive In  (Where a timesheet vacancy exists on the Saturday prior to competition)
  • Inter Club Competitions, subject to selection

Other competitions maybe included in the monthly fixtures from time to time. All Intermediate and Senior Intermediates members are eligible to win any of the prizes on the day other than the Monthly Medal itself.

EXCLUSIONS: Intermediates & Senior Intermediates are not entitled to play in the following Competitions: –

  • Captain’s Prize, except as above;
  • President’s Prize, except as above;
  • Professional’s Prize to Men, except as above;
  • Bellevue Cup;
  • Singles Matchplay, except as above;
  • Hamper & Bottles Singles & Fourball

COURSE: Intermediates and Senior Intermediates may play golf on Tuesday / Wednesday / Saturday / Sunday after all competitions have cleared the 3rd tee. They may also use the course on Monday / Thursday / Friday provided the tee is free and no Competition, Outing or Club Match is scheduled.

Intermediates & Senior Intermediates may invite guests who have GUI or comparable handicap to all Invitation Competitions.

Age is determined by member’s age on January 1st in subscription year.

 

Intermediate (Ladies 22-26) & Senior Intermediate (Ladies 27-35)

Lady Intermediates  and Senior Intermediates are eligible to play in the following Ladies Club competitions:

  • All Singles Competitions organised by the Ladies Club.

First prize may be won in all singles except the following listed competitions:

Lady Captain’s Prize, Captain’s Prize to Ladies, President’s Prize to Ladies, Professional’s Prize to Ladies, Hamper and Medals.

  • All home matchplay competitions run by the Ladies Club.
  • Interclub matchplay competitions, subject to selection.
  • Invitation Four Ball Competitions at weekends, if invited by an Ordinary Member.
  • Non Invitation Weekend Fourball Competitions where a BRS vacancy exists 7 days prior to competition start date (Senior Intermediates only).
  • All Open Competitions and invite guest(s).
  • Captains’ Charity Day.
  • Weekend Ladies Singles Competitions run by the Ladies Club, as per diary, except on weekends where there is particular pressure on the timesheet, i.e. Captain’s Prize to the Men, Professional’s Prize to the Men and Men’s Medal Days.  They may however play in the Ladies 9 Hole Competition held on the day of the President’s Prize to the Men and Lady Captain’s Prize to the Men.

(Category 1 players may play in all Ladies Weekend Singles Competitions throughout the year).

EXCLUSIONS:

Intermediate/Senior Intermediate ladies are not entitled to play in the following competitions:

Ladies Weekend Fourball Competitions except under the conditions referred to above;  

Foursomes:   Weekend Four Person Team Events e.g.  Scrambles and Rumbles; Captain’s Drive In; Mixed Foursomes Matchplay.

Please note that players must enter their names on BRS online tee time booking/reservation system for all Competitions organised by the Ladies Club except where draws are stated in the diary.

COURSE:

Senior Intermediates/Intermediates may play golf on Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon/evening and Saturday/Sunday afternoon/evening after all competitions have cleared the 3rd tee.

They may also use the course on Monday/Thursday and Friday, provided the tee is free and no competition, outing or club match is scheduled.  Players availing of these options for play much check in with the pro shop and book a tee time on the BRS online tee time booking/reservation system.

Intermediates/Senior Intermediates may invite guests who have an official ILGU or comparable handicap to all Invitation competitions.
