Repairing pitch marks on your greens

Non repair of pitch marks is causing serious damage to greens.  Because of recent humid and wet weather greens have suffered from outbreak of fusarium. The course staff are currently trying to control this outbreak through applications of fungicide. If pitch marks are not repaired this creates more favourable conditions for the development of fungal spores.  Brown patches on greens are evidence of fusarium.  There has been a noticeable increase in pitch mark damage on greens over recent weeks.  This has also been brought to the notice of course committee by concerned members.  As members we all have a responsibility to repair pitch marks on greens and divots on fairways, otherwise greens and fairways will suffer.  Please ensure that pitch marks and divots are repaired.

Always carry a pitch-mark repair tool
