Interclub Results and Next Matches

Monday 15th April. Super Senior’s (over 70’s Scotch Foursomes)  – Delgany V Lisheen Springs – 5 away. On Monday 15th we travelled to Lisheen Springs but due to adverse weather conditions, this match was postponed to last Thurs  (18th) – which was a lovely day in more ways than one as Delgany gained a positive result – Delgany 4 Lisheen Springs 1. Keep up the momentum Super Seniors!

On Good Friday, we held our annual Teams Fundraising Day. Over 40 teams of 4 took part and it was a very successful day. Thank you to everyone who took part and also to those unable to play but contributed in the “Brown Envelope” through the “Card Boxes” in the Hall. Further contributions welcome-and will be acknowledged shortly.

On Easter Monday, we had two teams in “Second Round” action. Our Irish Mixed Team were playing Ballinascorney, 3 away and 2 at home.  Things didn’t go our way on the day and the result went against Delgany  3.5 to 1.5.   Donal Lennon,Jason and Mags and Team will now focus on the Cullen Cup and I’m sure we will have a better result.  Our All Ireland Fourball Team was also in action again playing Lisheen Springs (3 home, 2 away). After a marathon struggle, the crucial match went to the 6th Tie hole in Delgany!  Delgany won 3/2.  It was great to see our Captain Dermot yet again giving his full support our teams.   Well done to Greg, Phil and team members.

Next Sunday (April 28th), we have two more teams in action both playing in fourball format;

1 Best Cup vs Powerscourt (both venues @ 3pm.) – first round 3 away and 2 at home

2 Fred Perry Trophy vs Castle (both venues @ 3.40) This is a second round match.

3 at home and 2 away

On Monday 29th, it’s Delgany vs Old Conna in the J.B.Carr Trophy (2nd round) in Delgany at 2pm.

All our teams welcome your support – it’s great to see “friendly faces”especially at “away matches”!
