Mens Team News

The inter-club season is beginning to warm up with many games scheduled for May. Already our Best Cup is up and run- ning and had their first outing on Sunday last against Corballis, who were last year’s outright winners. Unfortunately, having fought back twice from good leads we lost narrowly, beaten two away and one at home. This team is managed by Seamus Byrne who was assisted by Greg O’Neill who took care of the team for this event.

Our JB Carr team play Blainroe in Delgany at 3.00 pm on Thursday 28th April and our youthful Super Seniors who take on our neighbours Greystones, who are hosts, at 3.00 pm on Thursday 5th May. Greystones are current holders of the Super Seniors so will make it difficult for us.

Next up are the Barton Cup team, led by Jason Bradshaw and Paul Hautz, versus Wicklow on Sun- day 8th May at 2.50 pm. We have 3 matches at home in Delgany and 2 away in Wicklow.

That is a feast of Golf especially after the limited play in the last two years. Why not take ad- vantage and go out and support these teams? You won’t be sorry you did and remember you could be the difference between victory and defeat.

Sundays Best Cup match attracted an international audience, when three Ukrainian ladies living near- by arrived to have their traditional Easter celebration.

They had thought they were in a public park, our President Greg welcomed them and made sure they were safe as they enjoyed their picnic and the golf of course.
