The ground of the chipping practice area at the 1st tee box is exceptionally soft following the extensive rain we have experienced since July. To avoid damage we are in the process of installing 4 mats to enable us to keep this area open during the coming months. We will be fixing them in the ground as soon as the weather permits and we have completed the 9th tee project. In the meantime, we ask all members to use the mats as they are. This will protect the ground immediately. When the mats are installed in the ground it will be compulsory to use them for all chipping in this area. This is a great facility, so convenient to the 1st tee, but we need to protect the surface when the ground is so soft.
